Rick Lewis is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives. He represents the 18th district, which covers southern Clackamas and northeastern Marion counties. Early life and education Lewis grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming, and entered the military after graduating from high school upon the advice of his father. Lewis graduated from the University of Wyoming, and served in the Laramie and Gillette police forces. Career He moved to Oregon in 1984, serving as a sergeant in the Umatilla police department, and became Union chief of police in 1986. Lewis later served as Bandon chief of police, and as chief of police of Silverton from 1998 until his retirement on August 2, 2012. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the largest of the lifeboat (rescue), lifeboat services operating around the coasts of the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man, as well as on some inland waterways. Dic Penderyn
Richard Lewis (1807/8 – 13 August 1831), known as Dic Penderyn, was a Welsh labourer and coal miner who lived in Merthyr Tydfil and was involved with the Merthyr Rising of 3 June 1831. In the course of the riot he was arrested alongside Lewis Lewis, one of the primary figures in the uprising, and charged with stabbing a soldier with a bayonet. The people of Merthyr Tydfil doubted his guilt, and signed a petition for his release. However, he was found guilty and hanged on 13 August 1831. After his death he was treated as a martyr in Merthyr and across Wales. Early life Richard Lewis was born in Aberavon, Glamorgan, Wales in 1807 or 1808, in a cottage named ''Penderyn''. He was the son of Lewis Lewis, a cordwainer and later a miner from Cornelly, and his wife, Margaret. Eric Timothy Lewis (born May 29, 1982, in Houston, Texas) is an American soccer defender. Career Lewis played college soccer at Clemson University for three years from 2000 to 2002. A starter for all three years, Lewis finished his career at the school with ten goals and 12 assists in 61 games. After his junior season, Lewis signed a Project-40 contract with MLS, and was selected 20th overall in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft by the Los Angeles Galaxy. As a rookie with the Galaxy, Lewis played in 13 games for the team, a starter in seven of those. In the 2004 season, he was traded mid-season to the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a late-round draft pick. Lewis started for Colorado in 16 games in 2005. He was waived at the end of 2005. Richard Victor Lewis (born 6 August 1947) is an English former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Hampshire and minor counties cricket for Dorset. Biography Lewis was born in Winchester in August of 1947 where his Father was an amateur sportsman. Lewis was educated at Peter Symonds College. Lewis signed for Hampshire in 1967, making his first-class debut against Oxford University that year. In 1968 he became a regular player in the Hampshire team after making his County Championship debut against Somerset. He played in twelve first-class matches in 1968, scoring 349 runs at an average of average of 17.45, including a single century, 114 against Oxford University. In the 1969 season he made his List A debut against Yorkshire. Lewis spent nine years with Hampshire, during which he played 103 first-class matches and was a member of Hampshire's 1973 County Championship winning squad. Lieutenant Colonel Richard Percy Lewis (10 March 1874 – 7 September 1917) was an English first-class cricketer active 1891–1907 who played for Middlesex, Oxford University and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
